How to combat the Emerald Ash Borer

• Inventory your property and identify existing ash trees.
• Assess each tree and rate its condition.
• Decide which trees you wish to treat, which are expendable & which would be removed.
• Begin a treatment regime to protect the trees you value most, knowing that this will be an annual commitment for the life of the tree or until Emerald Ash Borer is eliminated.
• Plan to replace diseased trees with other species to create a more diverse tree population.
• Develop a plan of good cultural practices to maintain the health of your landscape.
• Have an annual inspection of your property by a certified arborist.
